How does it work?

I work alongside you, to help you find achievable ways to make small, manageable alterations to your life that will help you reach health and wellbeing goals that you may be struggling with. As a health coach I mentor you to help you find what works best for you, the responsibility for change and enacting what we discuss lies with you.

The process for individual coaching develops over a few sessions as outlined below:

Session 1: observing where you are at in your life and talking through the health goal/ goals that you wish to achieve.

Session 2: will be spent delving deeper into this, looking at different options for change, providing information to allow you to decide which way you wish to proceed

Following sessions will be more reactive involving reviewing your progress (whats working and whats difficult), delving deeper into areas of difficulty, reassessing goals and the driving forces behind them. The sessions are led by you, we work together to help you work your way through the problems. I work with you where you are at, at a pace that works for you.

As a health coach the following are outside of my scope of practice:

  • analysing/assessing client symptoms
  • diagnosing conditions
  • interpreting laboratory test results or other medical data
  • giving specific dietary or nutritional advice to the individual or a group (including removing food groups)
  • recommending supplements
  • prescribing meal plans
  • prescribing or de-prescribing medicines, treatments, or therapeutic interventions (including nutritional therapy, psychotherapy, physical activity programmes etc)
  • making claims to prevent or cure any condition

Should any of your health issues fall outside of my scope of practice I will, with your permission, suggest working alongside another health professional or recommend a relevant alternative health professional
